Happy Tuesday! We feel thankful to have a packed wedding and portrait schedule for 2010. We find ourselves traveling a good bit on the weekends, however we are committed to spending as much time as possible with our nephew, Brenson. I know we are biased, but we think he is the coolest, cutest, sweetest kid in the world! Every time we are with him, we are reminded how much we love kids.

Vernice and I were driving home from an engagement session on Sunday talking about how much our family and friends mean to us. We have some really special people in our lives and it is such a blessing. While we still struggle at times finding a balance between work and having a personal life, seeing pictures of Brenson put into perspective what the “good life” is all about. Vernice and I have very much enjoyed being aunt and uncle the last year to our wonderful nephew, Brenson. He recently had his 1 year birthday party and we were there to capture the festivities. It’s hard to believe our sweet nephew, Brenson, is almost 10 months old! Time surely flies … We’re sure Jessica and Brian would agree. Brenson gets more adorable every time Matthew and I see his smiling face. It is always a joy to photograph and spend time with our favorite baby boy! Hello all! I hope everyone is staying warm and cozy!

I just wanted to take the time to say THANK YOU for all the support from our blog readers. You guys have been absolutely amazing! Matthew and I feel so blessed that we have such positive people that truly care about our photography and growing business. From the blog comments to the 1, 013 (and counting) fans on Facebook, you all have shown such great encouragement. The love definitely drives our determination to make Hammett Photography a success and we are forever grateful.

As Matthew was editing last night, he came across this awesome picture of Brenson. He found it at the right time because, I was just about to give my ‘There is not enough hours in the day! How are we ever going to get all this stuff done?!’ nightly monologue. The image instantly made me smile and seeing Brenson’s adorable face jolted me back to why we love photography so so so much. It’s that undeniable rush you get when you see someone you love captured in a unique way. The picture is good, yes … but, it’s the story behind it that makes it amazing. It’s the history and the future all wrapped into one. Isn’t that great?! Isn’t that what it’s all about?!

There’s more to come from Brenson’s fun photo shoot … so stay tuned! We hope this photograph of our nephew makes your cold and rainy day a little brighter. Matthew and I are a little biased but, it made our whole entire year. [V]

So, our nephew doesn’t need an introduction at this point … but, I can’t help it. HE IS THE SWEETEST, MOST ADORABLE BABY BOY IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD! Brenson’s growing up so fast. Before we know it, he’ll be saying ‘Uncle Kerm and Aunt Vern’ … and possibly asking how we got those names.

I think it is safe to say, Matthew and I are absolutely in love with our nephew! We shot his one month portraits this past Sunday. He was asleep most of the afternoon, but we were able to catch his attention for these fun photographs. As I sit here and type this post, I can’t help but smile as I think about our new nephew, Brenson. He is the most adorable little baby boy I have ever seen. Our sister, Jessica gave birth to him this past weekend. Vernice and I still remember the day that Brian and Jessica came over to our apartment to tell us that she was pregnant. As our eyes teared up with joy, we knew their baby boy would be here soon. On Saturday night, God gave our family a precious gift.

We took lots of pictures throughout the day, because lets face it, we had a lot of time on our hands and we wanted to capture this wonderful day. The wait seemed like forever as we sat there in the hospital. At 9pm Brenson was born. After meeting Brenson, our whole family feels blessed.
