It’s all about LOVE

June 9, 2009

Vernice and I are celebrating our two year wedding anniversary today. It’s hard to believe how fast time flies. We watched our wedding dvd last night for the first time in several months. We both sat their nervous as it was coming on. Vernice and I started dating 10 years ago this December, yet we still get butterflies in our stomachs when we see each other. I know that sounds silly, but I don’t think we could be happier at this point.

Having a successful marriage and putting God first is something we have to work at everyday. Working in Residence Life, I have always told roommates in order to have a successful rooming situation, they must practice respect, communication, and compromise.  As it turns out, that advice works for marriages as well. My relationship with Vernice has been such a blessing. I feel like we have grown up together certainly since we were 16 but, even more so in the two years that we have been married.

Looking back two years ago today, we were so excited about our marriage together. I’ll never forget her walking down the aisle. I have never seen anyone look as beautiful as she did. So many thoughts crossed through my mind as I looked into her eyes.  I thought about the conversation I had with her parents when I asked their permission. I thought about us when we were 16 years old smiling at each other with braces. I thought about our future kids and how we will shower them with love and attention. Lastly I thought if I could just not let my knees buckle, I’d be ok. She was my princess and it was time to make her a Hammett! To this day, June 9th, 2007 is the best day I have ever experienced and I say that with such joy.

It’s passion and love that drives Hammett Photography. We are wedding photographers because simply put, we love marriage and everything about that special day where two individuals commit to spend the rest of their lives together. One thing that makes us unique as photographers is being newlyweds ourselves. We love weddings and we hope that our passion is able to shine through our photographs.

Mihal kita Vernice. You are my everything and I feel so blessed to be able to share our lives together.

A Weekend in Boston

June 3, 2009

Vernice and I took a quick weekend trip to Boston to see the Dave Matthews Band and Willie Nelson at Fenway Park. While there, we had the opportunity to spend the day with her aunt and uncle. Vernice has traveled there before and this was my first trip to Boston. I must say that I was truly impressed with the city. The weather was mid-70’s with sunshine which was perfect. We have decided that we must go back more often. As we walked up and down the streets, we had so many photo shoot ideas. We are always thinking about photography…that’s just who we are! When we go back, we’ll have to schedule some type of photo session. So if you want your engagement portraits in Boston, just let us know!

Here are a few fun pictures from our trip.

We snapped  a few pictures of each other.

What an AMAZING baseball stadium! Fenway Park was built in 1912.

A little random, but I had to take this picture…what’s a good caption for this?

My beautiful wife is silly!

We really aren’t stalkers or anything, but Dave’s bus happened to drive by us on Saturday. That put a big smile on our faces!

We love to travel and this was such a perfect mini vacation for my birthday weekend! Next month, we’ll be in San Fransisco for a week! We are so ecstatic about that trip! [M]
